Shine

Shine the moon,
for if only to bring the appearance of light,
down through the night,
cold to cripple the warmth of our sight,
shine on moon,
show us the fears that bump in the night,
awaken our souls to bring out a fight.
to walk in the shadows and fear their might,
the moon will continue when we do not.
it beckons us while all the while forbidding us to move,
at times it may block out sight, leaving us in a state of fright.
shine the moon,
show us the way in your light,
lead us to rest and continue our flight.
